A Quick Explainer- from Lyrix Organix
What is Levelling The Field?
Levelling The Field is a festival trainee programme (and database roster) for the Disabled and Deaf community facing barriers to their career in live events.
Mighty Hoopla and Lyrix Organix want to work with the Disabled and Deaf community to support careers in festivals and live events.
What am I applying for?
You are applying to join Levelling The Field’s team of four festival production trainees at Mighty Hoopla (31 May-1 Jun) for a two-day paid work placement (above London Living Wage).
This is an on-the-job professional development opportunity with mentor and in-depth support tailored to our group of Disabled and Deaf trainees.
Unsuccessful applicants will be added to our database of emerging/early career festival and event producers from the Disabled and Deaf community. Our aim is to secure paid work and learning opportunities for our roster
Who is involved?
It is delivered by Lyrix Organix, hosted by Mighty Hoopla - based at the venue Queertopia. This round is funded and supported by The Pink Noise Foundation.
We have a dedicated, experienced production team who support the delivery of Levelling The Field and prioritise care and wellbeing.

Stage Managers
Artist Liaison
Event Producers
We are looking to build a roster of festival producers - but there is no minimum level of experience required, or age limit. However you do need to demonstrate a commitment to a career in festivals and live events.
For this edition of Levelling The Field, we are particularly keen to encourage Disabled and Deaf community from the following groups:
LGBTQIA+
those based in the London Borough of Lambeth
